Welcome to Infinity Dogs CIC, where we celebrate the infinite bond between dogs and their owners

We are a non-profit organisation who are passionate about empowering other disabled people to train their own Assistance Dogs, and enjoy accessible dog sports and activities training. We are committed to responsible dog ownership and force-free, progressive training methods that enhance the wellbeing and happiness of both dogs and humans.

Our Founder

Our founder and director, Ruby Welsford, is an openly Autistic Force-Free Dog Trainer based in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, UK. She has a wealth of experience and qualifications in dog training, and is a trainer/member of several reputable force-free dog training organisations. She is the founder and head instructor of the UK Disc Dog Association, and the first to judge a world cup qualifier in the UK.

Ruby has two amazing dogs, Betsy and Milo, who are both fully trained Assistance Dogs. Betsy, a Border Collie x Labrador, has overcome severe dog reactivity and has become a star canine performer, with over 500 performances and media appearances under her belt. She has also flown in-cabin with an international airline multiple times. Milo, a border collie, is a rising star in the dog world, and has been invited to several events and media projects. Both Betsy and Milo enjoy learning new things and have tried various sports and activities, such as agility, scent work, rally, and parkour.

Ruby teaches seminars across the UK on Disc Dog, Trick Dog, and Clicker Training, helping others discover the joy of training their dogs while strengthening their bond. She assists individuals in training their own assistance dogs and is sought after by various organisations for her expertise. Ruby has also been involved in several international professional development programmes for dog trainers.

Ruby has accumulated thousands of hours of continuing professional development and has volunteered at a local dog training club, where her journey started. In her spare time, she lives, breathes, sleeps and eats dog training! Currently, Ruby and Milo are being coached by a world-class international stunt dog team.

At Infinity Dogs CIC, we are passionate about promoting inclusivity and celebrating disabled individuals in the dog world. We strive to create a community that embraces acceptance and safety for all.

We hope you will join us on our journey and discover the infinite possibilities of dog training!

I'm neurodivergent, have PTSD and extreme anxiety. At Infinity Dogs we had an NHS training day with a walk around a hospital and a ride in an ambulance – it was great fun, but more importantly was so useful.

A few weeks later I had to go to hospital and I was so less anxious as my dog Katy was relaxed with the various sounds and smells, which was a huge relief to me. I know now that in an emergency I can get the help I need without the need of a support worker.

Our Team

Infinity Dogs CIC is led by disabled and neurodivergent individuals, and operates on a not-for-profit basis. We empower other disabled people to train their own Assistance Dogs and enjoy accessible dog sports and activities training.

We are committed to responsible dog ownership and force-free, progressive training methods that enhance the wellbeing and happiness of both dogs and humans.

Our team are fully DBS checked for your peace of mind.

We are proud to be different from most assistance dog organisations and dog sport schools.

Our Volunteers

Ella

It’s a great organisation to be a part of and I’ve seen first hand people grow in confidence with their assistance dog at their side.

Tess

Being able to support other partnerships in developing that bond with their dogs is a wonderful opportunity

Sian

Volunteering gives me the opportunity to help others the way I’ve been helped, in a way that the handlers and dogs all get the best out of each other.

Donna

Whilst training Newt I have also helped out with new ADiT handlers whether it was giving just a bit of advice, a bit of encouragement, or just sitting and nattering being a little daft. It all helps.

Mei

Seeing others achieve things they never thought possible, as I once did, and being a part of that is amazing.

Claire

Since meeting Ruby I have been fully committed to force free training and went on to complete learning motivation and reinforcement level 3 with the IMDT.

When previously my OCD tendencies and multiple debilitating symptoms left me bed bound, R gives me an extra motivation and focus. We work as a team to ensure both of us are happy and mum, who has had to do a lot of ‘caring’ now, feels I am safer. For example R is learning to alert to seizures and knows when I am struggling. Whether it’s physical health or my OCD tendencies. I have more independence now, being able to access social events and uni with R means I have that warning and when my health does decline quickly, I have her with me to keep me safe.

Our Trustees

Lucy Jones

Lucy Jones has a wealth of experience within the commercial retail industry, where she formed the basis of her people led mindset. Lucy has since started working in the NHS, and leads a Patient Experience and Engagement team. Lucy is passionate about improving the experience of service users, and champions their voices being heard. She particularly enjoys working with different to reach groups!

Lucy understands the importance of learning and improving from complaints and concerns, and is a proud dog mum to Rupert the Cockapoo.

Anne Richley

Anne Richley joined the NHS in 1996 after choosing a career in midwifery. In 2014 she became a Matron within midwifery and part of her role included investigating incidents and also answering complaints. In 2021 she won a Royal College of Midwives award for ‘Excellence in Maternity Care throughout a Global Pandemic’, and has now retired from the NHS.

Anne is ‘grandmother’ to three dogs, two of whom are assistance dogs.

She loves to cook, and as the proud mum of the Director of Infinity Dogs, manages to muscle in on the catering for various dog training events.

Laura Wild

Laura Wild is a qualified Canine Behaviourist holding a BSc, Level 5 with IMDTB, and many other Level 3 and 4 qualifications. An Assistance Dog specialist, she has a significant background in positive reinforcement dog training. Laura was Managing Director of the previous Wild Spirit Dog Training CIC est 2019 and has received many Awards for her entrepreneurship, including being the 2024 Princes Trust National Winner.

Her journey began as a young teenager involved in horses, animal charities and rescue centres. She first became passionate about positive reinforcement training whilst bringing on young horses.

In 2019, Laura was diagnosed with autism. Already living with other disabilities including a neurological malformation and ME/CFS, she trained her Golden Retriever Summer to support her in completing her education and pursuing a career as an Assistance Dog trainer.

Summer is trained to an extremely high level of obedience, task work (she knows almost all tasks we train) and has attended prestigious events – including falling asleep on His Majesty the King’s feet! Summer is an outstanding teacher to other dogs, and has regularly worked as a ‘stooge’ dog helping our handlers.

As Summer is 7 years old and heading towards retirement, Ember, a 18 month old Curly Coated Retriever, is now Laura's Assistance Dog in training. Ember has big (paw sized) boots to fill when Summer retires but is making excellent progress. She's been brilliant, helping us to create resources for Infinity Dogs, and has been a wonderful example to the owner trainers within our organisation.
